Our Brief History
Saint Francis D’ Assisi Senior Secondary School (CBSE Regd. No. 230059) is run by the Society of Franciscan Brothers of Nort East India. It is religious minority school. The Congregation of Franciscan Missionary Brothers was founded in the year 1901.The founder of this religious congregation is BRO. PAULUS MORITZ. Bro. Paulus Moritz was born on 29th June, 1869 at Koengsberg in Germany. Bro. Paulus Moritz died on 19th November 1942 at Mt. Poinsur, Mumbai. Since then the Founder’s Day is celebrated on 19th Nov.The Religious Congregation commenced its educational and other charitable apostolate in Northeast India in the year 1972. The patron Saint of the Congregation is St. FRANCIS OF ASSISI. St. Francis was born in the year 1182 at Assisi in Italy. His love for God’s creation was so visible that he addressed every creature big and small as his brother and sister.
